I — The First Brushstroke Vaishil Arat-Nerem was the first to hear the Call of Imar. Across the stillness of Im, compassion rippled like paint through water, and the Astral’s voice reached her alone. In that moment, Vaishil saw Rhun’s wound and understood that a world unfinished was calling for hands to shape it. She became the First Brush.

II — The Triune Chosen
Vaishil gathered the first Triads beneath Imar’s gaze, where three selves became one purpose. Through mirrored spirit and living scripture, the Imari learned that compassion was strongest when shared. Their bodies became the first Keys, painted not with power, but with devotion. Together, they prepared to leave Im behind.

III — The Opening of Im
With brush and breath, Vaishil painted the first passage into Rhuna. The portal did not tear open through force, but unfolded like wet pigment across unseen canvas. Three forms of Vaishil moved as one, their scripts aligning in perfect resonance. Through this painted threshold, the Imari crossed into the unknown.

IV — The Brushlands Unbroken
The first Imari stepped into lands not yet claimed by sand, where Pahr’s visions still lingered across the earth like unfinished thought. Rivers shimmered with false futures and the skies bent with impossible color. Vaishil’s Echoforms spread outward, reading the shifting terrain like scripture. The land was beautiful, but unstable.

V — The Vision Puzzle The earth beneath them fractured into the Imaraggi-Sands, and the visions awoke. Every step birthed new paths, false oases, and mirrored destinies, testing the minds of the first Imari. Vaishil saw herself reflected a thousand ways, each possibility demanding choice. Here the desert became a puzzle of futures.

VI — The First Lost Not all who answered the Call endured the sands. Many were swallowed by false memories, wandering into futures that never were. Vaishil reached for them, but compassion could not always reclaim what the sands consumed. Their loss became the first sorrow written into Imarand.

VII — Compassion Paints the World At the edge of despair, Vaishil discovered the truth of the Imaraggi: the sands answered emotion. Through memory, grief, and love, she painted the desert itself, and the land stabilized beneath her brush. Oases bloomed where murals touched the earth, and safe roads formed from living color. Compassion became architecture.

VIII — The Founding Triads
Vaishil’s Echoforms merged, their body-scripts aligning into the first perfected Key. Through this revelation, the Triads were born—not as copies, but as synchronized souls bound in shared purpose. Together, they painted stable gateways and anchored the shifting desert. This was the first true act of Imari civilization.

IX — Onerra Rises Where the Imaraggi met the veils of Demuria, the Imari joined the Pahric to raise Onerra. Its bridges were painted into being, its libraries stabilized by memory and vision alike. No single hand built the city; it was the work of many currents, many lives, many stories. Here impermanence learned to endure.

X — The Painted Realm In time, Vaishil became more than founder—she became myth. Her Echoforms stretched across the dunes like living murals, guiding the Imari long after her body faded into sand. The Imaraggi became a realm of painted futures, endless compassion, and shifting truth. Thus Imarand was not conquered—it was painted.

Long before Imarand became the painted soul of Rhuna, the eastern wilds beyond Demuria were broken by vision.
The Balancing had passed. The fractures of Rhun had settled. But in many places, reality remained unfinished.
Across the eastern plains, where Pahr had once dragged the Green Thread through the world, the land had become unstable.
Visions bled into waking earth. Horizons shifted without warning. Rivers flowed backward through memory. Cities appeared where none stood. And entire caravans vanished chasing futures that were never meant to be.
The sands had not yet formed.
Only the Brushlands remained—vast plains of painted grass, broken mesas, and unfinished thought.
The land dreamed.
But it could not wake.
Across Rhuna, many feared this place.
Some called it cursed. Some called it holy. None could endure it.
But beyond Rhuna, upon the world of Im, another answer had already begun.
There, in a world of flowing script, painted skies, and rivers of reflected feeling, the people who would become the Imari heard Rhun’s Call.
Not as pain.
Not as command.
But as longing.
Among them, one listened deeper than all others.
Vaishil Arat-Nerem.
Painter of living scripture. Walker of mirrored selves. Listener of compassion’s hidden shape.
Where others saw beauty, Vaishil saw sorrow.
Where others saw possibility, Vaishil saw unfinished need.
And answered.
To prepare for the crossing, Vaishil underwent the Threefold Reflection.
They mastered the sacred triad of Imar’s law:
Memory — to preserve what must not be lost. Shelter — to protect what cannot protect itself. Joy — to restore what grief had broken.
Through this rite, Vaishil became the first complete vessel of Compassion’s Law.
Not ruler.
Not prophet.
Painter.
Guided by Imar, Astral of Compassion, Vaishil entered the Emiraggi—the painted fold between worlds.
For nine reflections they walked its shifting halls.
And when they emerged upon Rhuna, they entered the eastern Brushlands.
There they found disorder.
The sky split with unfinished futures. The land bent beneath false horizons. Beasts wandered half-dreaming between possibility and flesh. The earth breathed in colors no mortal mind could name.
The land lived.
But it could not hold itself.
Vaishil knelt.
And wept.
For seven nights.
On the seventh, they painted.
The First Veil.
At that painting, the land answered.
The false rivers settled. The broken horizons folded inward. The storming visions softened into color. And the earth itself exhaled.
That place became known as:
Qhol’Varesh.
The First Stillness.
Vaishil returned to Im and called their people.
Not to conquer.
To carry.
Thousands answered.
They crossed carrying:
scripture-paints, memory-cloths, living pigments, song-scrolls, and the mirrors of their ancestors.
Together they entered Rhuna.
Together they stepped into the Brushlands.
And together they painted.
Where their hands touched sand, the land changed.
The painted grasses dried. The visions settled into dust. And the Brushlands became the Imaraggi-Sands.
Not dead.
Awakened.
The land was named:
Imarand.
The Painted Place.
There the first law was spoken:
Presence.
What fades still matters. What breaks may still shelter. What is seen must be carried with compassion.
At the heart of Qhol’Varesh, where Vaishil’s Echoforms dissolved into the sands beneath the First Veil, three great mirage-spires rose from the earth.
Their forms shifted endlessly.
Over generations their painted halls spiraled outward into sanctuaries, bridges, and archives.
The city revealed itself.
Not built.
Painted.
It became:
Onerra.
Where Vision Holds.
The living heart of the Imari.
At its center rose the Great Library of Zemek’Thal, where memory and possibility were preserved together.
For a time, the Imari lived in shifting compassion.
But as other peoples spread across Rhuna, suffering followed.
Refugees crossed the Pale Road. Wars bled into the Witherlands. Dreamers vanished into Demuria. And truths were lost beneath the sands.
Many believed compassion was enough.
Others knew compassion required structure.
And so the Imari formalized their sacred ways.
They founded the Triune Keys.
The three great paths were established:
Mirathari — keepers of memory, story, and truth. Sha’varin — wardens of shelter, refuge, and hidden paths. Lumeyra — weavers of joy, healing, and restoration.
From that day forward, the Imari became more than painters.
They became the living keys of compassion itself.
And to this day, every child of Imarand learns the same truth:
Vaishil painted the stillness. The Imari gave it form. And compassion made it endure.
