When the War of the Severed Threads reached its climax, the land of Erevath became deeply scarred, reshaped by the violent conflicts between the First Writers. Ezhan, desperate to seal Gahl away from the universe-seeds—the shattered remnants of Vel’s cosmic hunger—erupted the great volcanoes of Halderin, sending rivers of molten rock cascading down the valleys. The fire and smoke rose so high that the mountains themselves crystallized, encasing divine power within the frozen veins of the peaks. Halderin, once an open expanse, became a jagged prison of ice and flame, forever trapping the lingering echoes of that battle. The shards of the universe-seeds remain buried beneath, and Gahl’s fury is said to still resonate within the trembling fault lines of the mountains, sealed away by the weight of celestial stone. In Vahlwood, Gahl, still bitter from being barred from the seeds, turned his focus toward trapping Kalthi within her own creation. He forced the growth of the ironwoods, thickening their roots so that her endless grasslands could no longer spread unchecked. Pahr aided him, weaving the mirage-clearings that distort the land itself, sealing Kalthi within a shifting illusion of endless prairies that lead nowhere. Thus, Vahlwood was formed—a cursed forest where time and direction bend unpredictably, where Kalthi sleeps, locked within the embrace of the very wilds she once wrote.

Elsewhere, Pahr sought a realm untouched by war, a sanctuary where he could work in peace, far from the chaos below. He reached into the sky itself, pulling upon the Green Thread of Guidance, twisting it until the fabric of reality split, and Demuria was lifted into the heavens. Floating above the realm, suspended in an ethereal balance, Demuria became a place where time moved strangely, where celestial movements could be charted with perfect clarity, yet never fully understood. The Cloud-Bridge of Onerra, a tether of condensed mist and starlight, formed as the only true passage between the floating island and the world below. But while Pahr ascended, Ezhan descended, lost in sorrow. He delved deep into Halka’s rising ocean, chasing the echoes of his own grief, and in doing so, brought the first Song-Stones from the abyss. The pressure of the deep crushed his divine light, but his tears, infused with celestial resonance, transformed into the glowing gemstones that now line the caverns of Ulden. His descent marked the creation of the Gem-Realms, where light and sound intertwine, forming an eternal vault of forgotten melodies. His weeping shaped the land, carving the great caverns that hold his sorrow, and to this day, his voice lingers in the shimmering depths, trapped within the song-stones that refuse to let the past be forgotten.

Vahlwood, once known as Narriel, was a vibrant grassland teeming with life, but the scars left by the War of Severed Threads transformed it into a dense, labyrinthine forest of ironwoods. These towering trees, mutated by cursed Threads, morphed into gnarled, mangrove-like giants that choke the sunlight and weave an oppressive canopy over the land. The very roots of Vahlwood seem to pulse with ancient energy, remnants of chaotic magic entangled beneath the soil.

The Kalthir people, known for their deep connection to fertility, romance, and sensory rituals, adapted to this new environment by building vertical cities among the ironwood heights. Their society thrives in the treetop layers, using bio-luminescent fungi and vine bridges to traverse the darkened forest floor safely. Below, the ground remains dangerous—a twisted, humid underworld where Thread-touched creatures lurk, mutated remnants of what once thrived in Narriel.

Vahlwood is both a prison and a sanctuary, its dense forests hiding ancient relics and forbidden knowledge left behind after the war. To outsiders, it's a place of mystery and peril; to the Kalthir, it’s home—ever-adapting, ever-surviving.

Halderin Copy link

Halderin is a formidable mountain range that serves as the natural barrier separating Kulmera from the rest of Erevath’s Northern Realm. Its jagged peaks are perpetually cloaked in snow, with icy winds that howl like voices of the ancient battles fought here during the divine wars. The mountains hold veins of crystalline ice threaded with faint traces of celestial energy—remnants from when the young Astrals first pulled upon the cursed Threads.

The Kulmari, also known as Veinwakers, carved out their mountain homes within Halderin’s frozen walls. They are a hardy, isolationist people who adapted to the harsh climate through intricate tunnel systems, warm stone halls, and geothermal springs hidden deep within the mountains. The Kulmari discovered an ancient, lurking mystic power sealed within Halderin—an artifact or entity tied to the wars of the Deities, its true nature kept secret even from most of their own kind.

Three dominant tribes govern Kulmera, each controlling key passes and sacred sites within Halderin. They maintain strict rites and guard the ancient powers buried deep in the ice, believing that disturbing these remnants could awaken the Chaos fragment slumbering beneath Erevath.

Demuria Copy link

Demuria is a realm unlike any other—a pair of islands shaped like an hourglass, with one half floating in the sky and the other resting upon the ocean’s surface. The two are connected by the Cloud-Bridge of Onerra, a shimmering expanse of solidified mist that shifts with the movement of the sun and moon. This ethereal connection is not merely physical; it also serves as a conduit for time-based anomalies, as Demuria exists partially outside the normal flow of time due to its intense concentration of the Jatu (Green Threads of Guidance).

The Pahric, scholarly mortals tied to the Green Threads, inhabit Demuria. They dwell in camouflaged buildings that blend seamlessly into the floating isles and desert landscapes, making the realm appear empty to untrained eyes. Demuria’s capital, also named Demuria, is a floating cloud city, an architectural marvel suspended in the sky by ancient Threadwork and arcane anchors. This city is home to vast libraries, runic observatories, and the enigmatic Veyli—egg-shaped artifacts that store immense amounts of historical data.

Demuria is a place of mirages and mystery, protected not just by its geography but also by illusions woven into its very air. Travelers often find themselves lost in time loops or unable to perceive the city at all unless guided by a Pahric observer.

Ulden Copy link

Ulden-Shar is a magical waterfall-stone, the sacred heart of the Ulden region. This colossal geological formation defies natural laws—a towering spire of crystal and stone from which an eternal waterfall cascades, flowing both upward and downward simultaneously. The waters are infused with potent Blue Thread (Adaptation) Va, making them a source of both spiritual enlightenment and dangerous transformation.

Beneath Ulden-Shar, vast cavern systems stretch into the darkness, forming the Gem-Realms, a labyrinthine network of underground rivers, bioluminescent flora, and crystalline structures. The Ezhani, descendants of the fractured deity Ezhan, navigate these subterranean waterways in ornately carved boats, collecting sound-stones and magical gems used for trade and ritual.

Ulden-Shar is not just a geographical wonder—it is a sacred site, a place where the barriers between the physical world and the Threads are thin. The Ezhani believe that the waterfall-stone is a vein of the planet itself, through which the whispers of Rhuna can be heard. Pilgrims and Threaders seeking visions or enlightenment often journey here, but many are lost to the depths below, where the currents carry more than just water—they carry the fragmented echoes of lost souls and forgotten histories.

Slated Plains Copy link

The Slated Plains are a jagged, storm-worn stretch of highland above the craters of Ulden, where the air crackles with static and dust-spirals tear across the barren slate like glass-shards in the wind. Once scorched into existence during the impact of three celestial beings—Halka, Vesar, and Nelni—the region has become both treacherous and sacred. Though inhospitable to most life, the Ezhani plains-runners brave its violent whirlwinds to ascend into charged tornadoes, extracting volatile electrified thread energy. This energy, resonating with the Yellow Thread of Sere, embodies Harmony and Sound in its most raw and chaotic form—singing with pulses that can shatter stone or silence the winds themselves.

Below the broken slabs of the plains, Witherwurms have begun to burrow and emerge, drawn to the vibrating thread harmonics and the residual divine essence left behind by the gods who fell here. These burrowing horrors threaten to breach the under-cities of Ulden, devouring history and civilization from beneath. To prevent catastrophe, the Zaltar and Ezhani have formed an alliance, combining the Zaltar’s mastery of celestial Order with the Ezhani’s airborne tactics and affinity for resonance. Together, they conduct harmonic patrols, using calibrated tones and sacred chimes to detect or repel the Wither-taint before it spreads beyond containment.

At the heart of this struggle lies Vierlune, the radiant capital nestled in the third and deepest of Ulden’s craters. Formed in the wake of Halka’s divine plunge and nourished by ancient waters, it now thrives amidst gem-laced rainforests and shimmering riverways that link the three crater-cities. From the shores of Lake Nazena, Ezhani seekers leap skyward or plunge deep, retrieving sacred sun-stones cooled by divine waters—a practice linked to Ezhan, Astral of the Depths. The Slated Plains, though cruel and relentless, serve as the ever-echoing border between divine catastrophe and living myth—where sound is weapon, memory, and prophecy all at once.

Nuhlveldt Copy link

The Nuhlveld is a vast, wind-battered stretch of rocky earth and tough, silvery-green grasses—an expanse unlike any other in Rhuna. It is known as the Threadless Expanse, a place where the very fabric of reality seems… muted. Threaders who step into its bounds feel a quiet unraveling of their senses—no weaving, no divine whispers, no resonance. Spells fail. Harmony silences. The Threads do not exist here. Some say it was once a battlefield of the gods where a cosmic backlash tore the very Weave asunder. Others claim it is the scar left behind when the first deity tried to sever fate itself. Whatever the truth, the Nuhlveld is a null-space, and it has remained untouched by the warping forces of the Astrals ever since.

Yet, where magic fails, steel thrives. The Meridians, born from collapse and reinvention, claimed the Nuhlveld not as a sacred wound, but as an opportunity. They built mining fortresses and mobile forges into its stony ridges, extracting ore unlike any other—black-gleaming minerals with an innate resistance to Threads. From these, they forge thread-resistant armor, shields, and weapons known as Nullplate. This gear is highly sought after by Threader hunters, rebels, and those who challenge fate itself. The Meridians guard these secrets, using encrypted Clip ledgers and Glimmer-bonded chests to control their trade. Merchant houses conduct silent auctions in the border towns, where payment is made in Roses, secrets, or favors that could unseat empires.

Life in the Nuhlveld is stark, but not barren. Strange beasts roam the plains—creatures born without Thread influence, resilient and brutal. Thunder-herds of horned bramblebeasts graze the iron-rich grasses, hunted by massive raptor-wolves whose bone hides cannot be pierced by magic. Nomadic Meridians, known as the Forgebound, wander the veld with towering pack-constructs and sand-tempered caravans, trading raw ore and threadless relics with Wildlanders and Corvian brokers. Some whisper of a deep crater hidden beneath the rocky crust, an ancient vault sealed with no thread-mark, housing something not meant to be woven—an echo of the First Severance. In the Nuhlveld, there is no fate. Only will, and those strong enough to carve their own.
