Mark Tokens Copy link
Mark Tokens represent persistent states, transformations, alignments, and ongoing effects currently affecting a Hero. Unlike Performance Tokens, Marks are never placed into a Hero's bag. Instead, they are tracked beside the Hero and remain active until ended, removed, replaced, or otherwise resolved.
Marks represent conditions that continuously influence how a Hero acts, is perceived, or interacts with the world. Some Marks reflect active Channeling, others represent altered forms, concealment, or special states granted by abilities, Pathways, Divinity, Devotion, or the story itself.
Unlike State Tokens, which track momentum, standing, and temporary advantages or setbacks, Marks represent active effects that remain present until something changes them.
A Hero may possess multiple Marks unless a Mark specifically states otherwise.
COSMIC CHANNEL TOKENS Copy link
Cosmic Channel Marks represent a Hero's active alignment with one of the Cosmic Fires. While Channeling, the Hero acts as a conduit for a greater force, shaping how their power manifests and how their abilities affect the world.
Only one Cosmic Channel Mark may normally be active at a time. A Cosmic Channel remains active until ended voluntarily, replaced by another Channel, or disrupted by an outside effect.
While active, abilities gained through the Channel are considered cosmic in nature and transcend ordinary physical limitations.
ATRAXIS
Flame of Order
You channel structure, clarity, and proper function.
Once per Scene, you may stabilize an effect, prevent escalation, or reinforce order against corruption, instability, or chaos.
EXORA
Flame of Balance
You channel equilibrium, mediation, and reflection.
Once per Scene, you may redistribute, offset, or equalize opposing effects, allowing competing forces to find balance.
XOTH
Flame of Chaos
You channel instability, transformation, and disruption.
Once per Scene, you may amplify a Bane, intensify a complication, or accelerate change by accepting a meaningful cost determined by the ability or effect used.
THE TURNING VIGIL TOKENS Copy link
Turning Vigil Marks represent alignment with the natural cycle of life, reflection, and death. Unlike Cosmic Channels, Turning Vigils draw power from the fundamental process of existence itself.
Only one Turning Vigil may normally be active at a time. A Vigil remains active until ended, replaced, or disrupted.
While active, abilities are treated as part of the Turning rather than manifestations of cosmic power.
YUL'S HEART
Breath of Life
You channel preservation, vitality, and renewal.
Once per Scene, you may restore, sustain, or extend an effect, preserving what lives and helping growth endure.
KAR'S GAZE
Eye of Reflection
You channel consequence, transformation, and understanding.
Once per Scene, you may reinterpret, exchange, or redirect an effect, allowing opposing forces to reveal new possibilities through reflection.
STATUS TOKENS Copy link
Status Marks represent ongoing changes to a Hero's physical presence, visibility, identity, or form. These Marks are commonly granted through abilities, Keywords, Threads, Divinity, Devotion, equipment, or environmental circumstances.
Unlike Conditions, which create pressure and disruption, Status Marks usually describe what a Hero currently is rather than what is happening to them.
HIDDEN
You are fully concealed and cannot be directly targeted by creatures or characters that have not detected you.
HIDDEN ends when you openly reveal yourself, are discovered, or enter clear view without maintaining concealment.
MORPH
Your form has been altered through magic, Threadcraft, transformation, mutation, or other effects.
MORPH may grant temporary traits, movement options, sensory capabilities, or restrictions depending on the source of the transformation.
MORPH remains active until the effect ends or the Hero returns to their natural form.
STEALTH
You move quietly and avoid casual detection.
Creatures must first become aware of your presence before they can reliably track or engage you. STEALTH often grants advantages when initiating encounters or avoiding notice.
STEALTH ends when you attack, create an obvious disturbance, or otherwise reveal your location.
