Origin Tokens represent a Hero's inherent nature—the part of them that exists beneath training, experience, and circumstance.
When the pink Origin Token is drawn during a Performance, it immediately adds Versatility equal to the highest eligible total for the Hero's Origin Seed. Count matching results across both the tokens already drawn and those remaining in the Hero's bag.
The Hero then determines the Chosen Total by counting that chosen result throughout their entire Hero Bag, not only among the tokens drawn for the Performance. The Chosen Total is then applied to the Performance.
Astralkin use their highest Sanction total; Vathians their highest Thread Color total; Nuhlrin their highest Aspect total; and Orvah the highest single total among Sanctions, Thread Colors, and Aspects. Use only one total, with a minimum bonus of 1V. The bonus applies to the current Performance and does not generate Reserve Tokens or require a choice during character creation.
ASTRALKIN
HIGHEST SANCTION TOTAL
When the Origin Token is drawn, find the highest single Sanction total belonging to the Hero.
Count matching results already drawn and still in the bag. Immediately add that total as Versatility to the current Performance, with a minimum bonus of 1V.
Astralkin are beings of divine or cosmic authorship. Their Origin allows the divine principles woven into their existence to emerge through the Sanctions they have cultivated.
VATHIAN
HIGHEST THREAD TOTAL
When the Origin Token is drawn, find the highest single Thread Color total belonging to the Hero.
Count matching results already drawn and still in the bag. Immediately add that total as Versatility to the current Performance, with a minimum bonus of 1V.
Vathians are bound to reincarnation through the living Threads of Reality. Their Origin allows the resonances accumulated within them to surface when their inherent nature is called upon.
NUHLRIN
HIGHEST ASPECT TOTAL
When the Origin Token is drawn, find the highest single Aspect total belonging to the Hero.
Count matching results already drawn and still in the bag. Immediately add that total as Versatility to the current Performance, with a minimum bonus of 1V.
Nuhlrin descend from mortal peoples created on distant worlds from uncorrupted Threads. Their Origin bonus draws upon the Aspects they have cultivated through their own lives.
ORVAH
HIGHEST ELIGIBLE TOTAL
When the Origin Token is drawn, find the highest single eligible Sanction, Thread Color, or Aspect total belonging to the Hero.
Count matching results already drawn and still in the bag. Immediately add that total as Versatility to the current Performance, with a minimum bonus of 1V.
Orvah exist between mortal, Threaded, and divine inheritances. Their tangled nature allows them to draw upon whichever of these connections they have cultivated.
